Meet the Teacher - Who I Am
Hi! I’m Jordan. In a past life, I was a high school guitar and percussion director. All in all, I’ve been teaching music for over 15 years, but now I have my dream job. As a self-taught musician, I love creating an environment in which my students are free to experiment with new skills as many times and in as many ways as it takes for their unique minds to figure it out. They are free to fail, free to have fun, and free to be themselves. I empower my students with encouragement to confidently gain new skills, without any of the pressure, fear of failure, or expectations of perfection.
I began playing the piano at the age of eight, drums at the age of eleven, and guitar at the age of thirteen. Think of me as your advocate, your musical mentor, your very own Gandalf if you will (only with fewer gray hairs). You can count on me to teach you the basics, advanced concepts, and more, with energy, excitement, and genuine care for you to grow and thrive.
The official stuff: I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Central Florida and was a percussion director in Orange County. I’m also a well-rounded guitarist, pianist, percussionist and singer.
